Let’s talk game day, shall we? Actually, let’s talk game day food. If I’m being totally honest, I could care less about football, game day, or the Super Bowl. The only reason I love it is because I get to plan all the eats! So I guess that’s reason enough for me.
My favorite part about these kinds of gatherings is trying out new ideas. Game day is perfect for FUN food, am I right? Tell me, what’s more fun than a build your own FRENCH FRY BAR. I mean, yes please yes please yes please!
Fun? Check.
Easy? Check.
Yum? Check, check.
Let’s break it down.
Obviously the start of a really great fry bar are the fries. This is your base, your platform, your landscape. This, is what dreams are made of. I say, keep it simple and make life easy for yourself. For my fry bar I used my favorite frozen fries by Alexia. I like to use a couple of different kinds to keep it interesting and to appeal to all tastes. Here I used the Waffle Cut Sweet Potato Fries (they make a great shovel), and the Home Cut Fries. I love the contrast of the two shapes, textures and flavors.
It’s truly as simple as spreading the fries on a sheet pan and popping them in the oven. While they bake I prepare the toppings!
I kind of went with the whole chili cheese fries theme, but feel free to be creative and add any toppings you like! More is more if you ask me! Let your guests go crazy, piling high their own bowl of goodness.
I love using the Alexia fries because I can buy them at my local Ralph’s and they taste homemade. Hot, crispy and flavorful fries piled high with your favorite toppings? Sounds like game day heaven to me!
