Every Wednesday I pick up my 4 and 6 year old daughters and my 4 year old nephew from school. On Wednesdays they have gymnastics. And on Wednesdays I BETTER have a snack in the car or they’re gonna let me have it.
Does anybody else go through this? Where your kids barely say hi to you and immediately want to know if there’s a snack in the car? The fear of disappointment is real. Are they gonna like it, will they be in the mood, or simply want something different?
You just never know with kids these days. ????
This is why I decided to create a snack that pleases everyone. And not just pleases the kids, but mama too. I’m well aware that trail mix is nothing new, but it is new when you make it yourself and when you change up the ingredients. It doesn’t take much to keep things exciting, colorful and delicious.
In this mix I used Sea Salt & Olive Oil Popcorn by Simply 7. I love that the popcorn is made with olive oil and other real ingredients. It’s the perfect salty base for the added cashews, sweet currants, and bright chocolate covered sunflower seeds. All of this to make one cute and exciting snack that I can feel good about, and not stress because I know there’s something in there for everyone.
It literally takes 2 minutes to make a giant batch of this for the week. Throw it all into a large bowl, toss and be done.

A quick and easy snack with a little something for everyone!
Ingredients
- 8 cups Simply 7 Sea Salt & Olive Oil Popcorn
- 1 cup roasted & lightly salted cashews
- ½ cup currants
- ⅓ cup chocolate covered sunflower seeds
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients to a large bowl and toss together. Store in an airtight container and enjoy all week long!
