I cannot stress this enough!
It’s definitely that time of year where eeeeeeeeveryone is trying new recipes. I love that! But please, be smart about it, don’t screw yourself. Read the entire recipe BEFORE you begin cooking. Actually, read the entire thing before you even go to the grocery store. Take it from me, I’ve learned the hard way.
I take out my cookbooks, browse through the pictures, and choose a recipe that “looks good.” Then I skim the list of ingredients, jot down my grocery list and head to the store. Fast forward to 1 hour before serving time, I begin to prepare my recipe and get half way through the directions only to read that I need to let the item chill in the fridge for 2 hours before continuing on.
MAJOR FREAK OUT!
Don’t make that mistake. Read the recipe, make a plan, then begin. Some recipes are short and sweet like the Thyme Roasted Almonds recipe above. While others tend to be a bit more lengthy.
All I’m saying is to plan your time wisely, and reading through the whole recipe can help you do so. The holidays are stressful enough. So use this helpful tip to make your life a little bit easier.
