Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup water (or chicken stock)
  • Corn or flour tortillas

Garnish options:

  • Shredded lettuce
  • Shredded cheese
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Diced avocado
  • Sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium/high heat. Add the oil, ground turkey, chili powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika and cumin. Cook for 5-7 minutes, breaking up the meat as you cook.
  2. Add the tomato paste, and water (or stock) and stir until the meat is well coated. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  3. Serve taco meat in tortillas topped with your favorite garnishes such as shredded lettuce, cheese, cilantro, avocado or sour cream.
