Skillet Broccolini

I love how much you guys love my super easy peasy, hardly even a recipe recipes! This Skillet Broccoli has been a go-to in my house for months and we love it more than life. Turns out you do too!

What is broccolini anyway?

It’s a cross between broccoli and chinese broccoli. It’s got a thicker, stalkier stem (so delicious, by the way), and leafier greens up top. I love it 10x more than traditional broccoli and I LOVE how it cooks up quickly on the stove top.

(Not sure what kind of skillet to use? Here’s my guide to the best cookware for home cooks, including the difference between stainless steel pans, nonstick pans, and cast-iron pans.)

Description

This easy 4 ingredient Skillet Broccolini will be your new favorite side dish for any day of the week!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces broccolini
  • 1 tablespoon ghee (can also use olive oil, butter or combination of both)
  • pinch of salt
  • squeeze of fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Heat a large pan over medium/high heat. I like to use a cast iron skillet for this, but any pan will work. Trim the ends off the broccolini, then cut in half lengthwise. If any stalks are super thick, or any of the tops are thick you can cut those in half as well.
  2. Add ghee to the pan and melt. Add broccolini and a pinch of salt. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until desired doneness. I like mine after about 6 minutes, when they are bright green and just tender crisp. Turn off heat and squeeze over some fresh lemon juice. Serve and enjoy!
