This No-Boil Three Cheese Baked Pasta is easy, cheesy, and requires FIVE minutes of prep before going in the oven. It’s a weeknight wonder!
This post is sponsored by Aldi.
It’s officially back to school time (whatever that means these days). Either way it’s somewhat back to routine, back to homework, the whole enchilada. My mind goes straight to weeknight dinners when I think about school starting again. I made this No-Boil Baked Pasta as the ultimate no-stress comfort food. It’s 5 minutes of prep for the most comforting pasta dish ever! Just stir it together and put it in the oven. Kind of amazing, right?
Back-to-School Recipe
Back-to-school is looking totally different this year. Whether you’re physically in the classroom, rocking the home school, or doing virtual learning, we’re all a little bit overwhelmed. I wanted to create a recipe that’s low-stress and ultra-comforting. This No-Boil Baked Pasta is like a hug from me to you! A recipe hug!
I am really, REALLY excited to be partnering with ALDI on this recipe. I picked up all these simple ingredients at our local store and was so pumped to try it out for the first time! ALDI is amazing for shopping on a budget, fresh ingredients, and everything you need to get into a good food routine with the back to school madness. BONUS: you can shop ALDI on Instacart and now nearly 600 of their stores are doing curbside pickup!
No-Boil Baked Pasta
My favorite part of this recipe is FOR SURE that you don’t need to cook the pasta prior! No stove time, no stress, just make it and run. Well, don’t run, because your oven is on…but really, it’s just 5 minutes of prep and then bake time! The trick is to make sure all of your pasta noodles are covered in sauce, then cover your dish tightly with foil. Your oven does all the work and the noodles cook in the pasta sauce!
Best Veggies in Pasta
I used frozen broccoli in this No-Boil Baked Pasta. Just toss it in and you’re good to go! You can get creative with the vegetables you include here, though. Whatever your family loves! Some ideas…
- Zucchini or yellow squash
- Tomatoes
- Olives
- Carrots
- Bell peppers
- Green beans
- Peas
More Perfect Pastas
- Broccoli Pasta
- Easy Instant Pot Pasta
- Grilled Artichoke & Mushroom Lemon Pasta
- 30-Minute Fettuccine Turkey Bolognese

- Fold in the ricotta cheese then pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Top with remaining parmesan and mozzarella cheese.

Can I make without ricotta? Not a big fan. Is there a substitute or just don’t include it? Also wondering if I can sub spinach or something else other than broccoli? Or do I maybe not need it and can serve on the side?
You could leave it out or sub with cottage cheese! And you can totally use whatever veggies you like!
Hi! I’ve never done the no-boil pasta. Do you need to add water? I’ve seen a lot of other recipes and they all add water. Thanks
Hi! I’ve seen other recipes for the no cook pasta bake online that include adding water. Does this need water? I don’t see it listed.
Nope! There’s a enough liquid it doesn’t need it!
I don’t know if I missed the part where you add water and I kept losing my spot online in no boil pasta. So, I’ve added a jar of water just soso I’ll it’ll cook. My oven must be crazy hot because after 40 minutes it was almost done. I’ve added extra cheese on top and put pasta in for another 10 minutes with the oven off. Other than that it turned out good. Thank you
Do you think this would work with gluten free pasta?
Yes!
I really am floored by this recipe. I tried it out and it tastes absolutely amazing. This is now my go to dish for the days I am too lazy to cook. Thank you for sharing this.
So happy you loved it!!
I hate when people immediately ask about substitutions, but have you tried the no-book method with GF pasta?
I haven’t tried but I think it would work!
