5 Minute Maple Balsamic Dressing
You know, people have it all wrong. Everybody thinks that what goes into a salad is what makes it so great. Don’t get me wrong, Quality ingredients are important. Beautiful lettuce, and variety of colors and textures all play vital roles in building an awesome salad.
BUT.
Do you know what takes an ordinary salad to extraordinary? It’s ALWAYS the dressing.
Because lettuce is just lettuce, and veggies are just veggies until you dress ’em up with a little sumthin’ sumthin’!
People tell me all the time about how afraid they are of making homemade salad dressing. I can promise you this. IT’S SO EASY. You know you can trust me on this one. Whisk together a few ingredients and you’ve just elevated your salad game times ten!

It’s a little sweet, a little tangy and just the perfect balance of flavors to bring out the best in your salad. Make a big batch to use all week and drizzle it on everything!

- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- squeeze of fresh lemon juice
Instructions
- Whisk everything together until emulsified. Store remaining dressing in the fridge for 1 week.
Notes
This recipe makes enough for 1 large salad that feeds about 4 people. Feel free to double or triple the recipe to use throughout the week.
When homemade dressing is stored in the fridge, the oil can sometimes solidify. If this happens, simply leave out at room temperature for about 1 hour then whisk together. Or run dressing jar under warm water to help loosen up the mixture.
This is one of my go-to recipes I use from Life is but a Dish. I don’t google “balsamic dressing” I google – “life is but a dish balsamic dressing” and this comes right up! It’s way better than store bought dressing and I love how the mustard and maple syrup really elevate this! I know Laney always says to keep lemons and limes on hand, but I just always forget to use them but I use the lemon juice in the little squeeze bottle and it works just fine. This dressing is delicious!
Thank you Kelli!
