10 Minute Easy Charoset
Apples, nuts, and currants make for an irresistible addition to Passover! Laney’s Easy Charoset is a favorite around here.
Can you believe it’s almost time for Passover? It’s definitely been a strange spring season. I’m used to entertaining and preparing for a big group for Passover, so this year won’t look like it has traditionally. ? I’m going to do my best, though, starting with my Easy Charoset recipe! This is a delicious and sweet traditional Jewish Passover dish that I’ll be preparing for my family of four.
This is my own recipe for an easy Charoset and it really is so simple. The specifics of this dish can be different depending on your family’s traditions, where you’re from, etc., but it’s always sweet and it’s one of the six items included on the Seder plate. Toss everything in a bowl together, give it a stir, and it’s ready to enjoy. In fact, I find the longer it sits, the better it becomes!
Ingredients in Easy Charoset
Charoset starts with a base of apples diced very, very small. Any kind you can get your hands on will work great for this recipe! The rest of the ingredients are pantry staples that you may already have on hand.
- Apples
- Almonds
- Currants (you can use raisins, but I prefer currants!)
- Sweet grape juice
- Lemon
- Nutmeg
- Cinnamon
- Brown sugar
Serving Easy Charoset
Charoset is served with matzah, it’s incredibly easy to make, easy to serve, and everyone loves it. Even if you aren’t celebrating Passover, it makes for a sweet and tasty snack (pronounced har-oh-set)!
